When: Jan 1st 2010
Where: Sipsey Fork of the Warrior River below Smith Lake Dam
What: Limit for the new year

Got to the pump station lot at 8:00am, nobody else there, and to the guide hole by 8:30am. Air temp approx 35 degrees   water temp-48, bright & sunny windy with Gust  . The 1st real cast with a larger than normal extreme winged rubber legged bead headed nymph I'd got in the Helen fly shop netted the 1st fish of the year. Missed a couple of hits before netting another on a leaded olive nymph I'd tied for my Georgia trip, which netted another one later after missing one trying a one hand hook set (had my other hand in my wader pocket trying to warm it up  ) and another one throwing the hook while leaping out of the water  . Took time out for a shore lunch and warm in the sun before hanging 2 more keepers on a flame red San Juan worm.

*EDIT*
This is the same photo using webshots the one above is using photobucket

The attachment is using the optionshown at the meeting

I still cannot see the pitures that are posted with this.  All I see is white space instead of the pictures.  Can other people see the pictures that Purple Squirrell posted in the subject: Starting the Year out Right
